Top dog ... Pudsey with owner Ashleigh Butler in Hollywood as they try to crack America

ROCK giants Oasis failed, pop kings Take That struggled and even Ant and Dec couldn’t manage it.

But Britain’s Got Talent winner Pudsey has done it — the amazing dancing dog has broken America.
The megastar mutt arrived in Los Angeles this week... and it has been one long showbiz schmoozefest ever since.
On Wednesday night six-year-old Pudsey and his human sidekick Ashleigh Butler made their US television debut on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
The pair wowed millions of American viewers with their dazzling dancing and endearing British charm on the chat show sofa alongside Hollywood superstar Morgan Freeman.
And speaking backstage about Pudsey minutes after the programme finished, 17-year-old Ashleigh told The Sun: “Morgan Freeman actually asked, ‘Do you think he knows he’s famous?’
“In the advert break we had a bit of a chat. He was lovely — I think he was impressed. He was asking me how I taught Pudsey. I said I used food, and he said, ‘You wouldn’t get me to do that for just a bit of food’.
“Pudsey loves Hollywood. He likes the attention, the bigger the crowd, the more he performs. He’s such a show-off. Nothing fazes him.

“The Britain’s Got Talent final was only eight weeks ago but it seems like eight months. We’ve done so much. It’s been like a whirlwind.”
The Sun joined Pudsey on his triumphant first US tour — and can confirm he has been lapping it up. And we can reveal that today he is meeting Disney chiefs as he takes his first steps towards a potential movie career in Tinseltown.
Ashleigh is realistic about his chances but said: “I think Pudsey would be perfect for movies. Simon Cowell has always wanted a dog to win an Oscar.”
Pudsey and Ashleigh’s American adventure began on Saturday, when they flew in on BGT chief Simon’s private jet.
Despite being the pooch’s first trip abroad, it was Ashleigh who was more fazed by the journey with the TV
    mogul.
She said: “I was a little nervous before we got on the jet, sitting with Simon Cowell on a small plane for eight hours.

“I was scared of falling asleep, as just before I went on, my brother told Simon that I snore.
“But Simon was lovely. He’s in love with Pudsey so it was quite easy. Pudsey had his box where he could sleep. And he came out and had a little walkabout and ate some of Simon’s carrots.”
The operation to get Pudsey to the US was planned with military precision. Simon’s jet took them to Greensboro, North Carolina, where he was holding auditions for the US X Factor.
Pudsey and Ashleigh then took internal flights to Los Angeles via Dallas with American Airlines’ celebrity pet department — yes, really — and Pudsey had his own first-class seat.
Ashleigh said: “We had a seat each. He was playing with the buttons, watching the telly.” And since arriving in LA, Pudsey has been staying in an exclusive West Hollywood hotel and travelling everywhere in a chauffeur-driven stretch limo.

His US telly debut with Jay Leno on Wednesday was followed by more TV appearances yesterday on three of the country’s top entertainment shows.
After today’s meeting with Disney bigwigs, Pudsey and his entourage head to New York, where he will strut his stuff on America’s Got Talent next week.
Ashleigh said: “I was very excited to come to Hollywood and we’ve got to see all the glamorous places. We’ve been doing photoshoots around the city and tour buses have been stopping to take pictures of us. We’re both loving it.”
Besides Ashleigh, Pudsey’s entourage includes her mum Penny, a manager and two publicists — one for Britain and one for America.

A fancy pink bag containing a brush, a toy and some tasty treats is carried by one of Pudsey’s flunkies wherever he goes, and he has a special dog buggy with a cool pad in the bottom to stop him overheating in the fierce California sun.
And anyone wondering how this dog’s life has changed should see the spread that was laid on for him in his dressing room at Jay Leno’s NBC studio. As their backstage rider Ashleigh had asked for a simple ham sandwich — Pudsey’s favourite snack — but they were served a giant platter of luxury ham sarnies made with wheat, rye, wholemeal and white bread, French stick and croissants. Despite the choice, Pudsey instead went for a burger.
After filming, he and Ashleigh chilled out with The Sun by their rooftop pool as tourists asked for snaps.
Pudsey — whose prize for winning BGT was £500,000 and a spot in November’s Royal Variety Performance — has been tipped to make £10million from his new-found fame.

In October he has a book out — dubbed his autobidography — and he will be performing in front of a total of 60,000 people in the panto Dick Whittington in Woking, Surrey, this winter. And he is clocking up the celebrity fans too. Ashleigh said: “I did hear that Justin Bieber had shown 50 Cent a video of us. When I heard that I ran downstairs to my mum and said, ‘Oh my God, Justin Bieber and 50 Cent watched us’.”
She added that the liberal world of Hollywood suits Pudsey perfectly — because she thinks her dog is bisexual. While in America he has taken a shine to some of the pampered local pooches while out on walkies.
Ashleigh said: “Big or small, boy or girl, he’s not fussy. He’s in love with a boy in England — my friend’s cocker spaniel, Sam.” But despite having his head turned by Hollywood, Ashleigh insisted Pudsey is kept grounded by his humble life at home in Wellingborough, Northants.

She said: “At home we have six dogs. We have three collies in their own kennel outside and Pudsey sleeps inside with his mum and my sister’s dog.
“My sister’s dog is a little bit grumpy and when Pudsey goes home he just gets growled at — I bet he dreads going home. All the beds are taken and he has to sleep on the floor sometimes.
    “It’s a bit of a reality check for him — that’s probably why he’s not a diva.
“Fame hasn’t changed him, he’s exactly the same. He just eats better food now.”
